(Clovis, CA) - Several team records fell at the CA/NV State Senior Championships this past weekend. The meet featured 1350 swimmers from around California and Nevada. Meghan Zimmer broke SMSC Team Records in the 100, 200 and 400 Freestyles. Zimmer took the 100 Free to 59.17, lowered her own 200 Free record to 2:04 and broke Megan Palera's 400 Freestyle record, going 4:24.09.   (Los Angeles, CA) - Maddie Mastrup and Erica Brannon joined a long list of Santa Maria Swim Club CIF Champions at the CIF Division IV Championships at Mt. San Antonio College. Brannon, a junior at St. Joseph's High School, won the 200 Freestyle, dropping 3 seconds to go 1:55.24. She also took 2nd in the 100 Backstroke (58.8).   (Santa Maria) - Santa Maria Swim Club gets the long course meters season underway this weekend with 3 athletes (Jordan Devine, Meghan Zimmer and Josh Prenot) headed to the Speedo Grand Challenge in Irvine while the rest of the team heads to San Luis Obispo for their invitational. The Speedo Grand Challenge will host many Olympians as well as some of the best high school and college athletes in the Country, competing for cash prizes and bragging rights.

  (Santa Maria, CA) - Meghan Zimmer, an athlete with SMSC from the age of 8 years old, signed a scholarship offer with the San Diego State Aztecs, this past week.  Zimmer has enjoyed a long career at SMSC highighted by several team records, and Junior National and USA National appearances. Zimmer will most likely help the Aztecs next year in the 50, 100, 200 & 500 Frees, as well as, Backstroke and IM.
