  (Santa Maria, CA) - SMSC managed to put together an 87lb donation of food items at the last "Canned Food Drive" summer swim meet. The food was donated by the athletes, parents and coaches. All food was donated to the Foodbank of Santa Barbara County. Nice job SMSC!

  (Santa Maria, CA) - Six athletes from the SMSC National Team head to Santa Clara for the 43rd Annual International Invitational, swimming alongside Michael Phelps, Ryan Lochte and more. The athletes include Josh Prenot, Meghan Zimmer, Karen Hendrick, Erica Brannon, Jordan Devine and Maddie Mastrup.

  (Columbus, OH) - The SMSC National Team is having a great week at the 2010 Ohio Grand Prix. The meet began on Thursday with Madeline Mastrup swimming in the finals of the 800 Freestyle. The evening concluded with two consolation finals for Josh Prenot - both best times and one a team record. Prenot managed a 57.0 100m Fly in the consols, then 10 minutes later swam to a 2:07 200 IM and team record. Friday, as the  meet continued, several more athletes made finals and went best times....

(Santa Maria, CA) - Ed Spencer, USA Swimming Master Coach Consultant will be on-deck with SMSC this Sunday through Wednesday. Coach Spenser will work with most of the groups on the team, spend time with the coaching staff and discuss club operations.  USA Swimming chooses 40 clubs per year for this honor out of nearly 3000 teams across America.   Aloha everybody! Meghan Zimmer swam for SMSC from the age of 8 through current summer vacations and such. One of our most decorated athletes, she just finished her first season at San Diego State University and quite possibly has qualified for the NCAA Tournament.   (Colorado Springs, CO) - The Santa Maria Swim Club was selected for the 4th year running as one of USA Swimming's Bronze Medal Club's. The Club Excellence program recognizes those programs in the country that are performing at the highest levels competitively. This award places the Santa Maria Swim Club in the Top 200 of teams across the country for the 4th consecutive year. Congratulations to all of SMSC's coaches, athletes and parents on a job well done.
