  (Maui, Hawaii) - Josh Prenot was selected to the 2010 Junior Pan Pacific Team to represent TEAM USA against Canada, Japan, Australia and a host of other countries at the Pan Pacific Junior Swimming Championsips, August 26-30, 2010. Prenot will swim his signature event, the 400m Individual Medley, as well as the 100 & 200m Butterfly and the 200m Individual Medley.  (Santa Clara, CA) - Karen Hendrick had a great week at the North American Challenge Cup competition that concluded last Saturday, August 7. Hendrick managed a 4th place finish in the 400 IM with a 5:13.95. Hendrick was also an integral part of all of Southern California's relays in the 17-18 division. The meet brings together the age group All-Stars of Southern California, Northern California, Mexico and Canada. Hendrick rounded out her events with a Silver medal performance in the 200 Back, swimming to a best time of 2:25.

  (Irvine, CA) - Josh Prenot participated in the longest meet of his life this past week. It was actually two meets. Competing at the U.S. National Championships in the first week, Prenot swam to a 4:23.90 in the 400 IM, shattering his own SMSC Men's Team Record and finishing 17th in the country.  The following week, at the U.S. Junior Nationals, Prenot took 17th again, this time in the 200 Fly with a 2:02.80.   (Santa Clara,CA) - Karen Hendrick begins competing on the North American Challenge Cup today in Santa Clara. The NACC meet is an all-star competition bringing together the best age group athletes from Pacific Swimming, Southern California Swimming, Canada and Mexico in a 4 day team competition. Hendrick will compete in the 100 & 200 Backstroke, 200 & 400 IM and all of the relays while assisting Southern California towards a potential team championship and representing America.

  (Walnut Creek, CA) - 8 athletes from SMSC represented the team at the 2010 Far Western Championships. The Far Western Championships bring the best age group athletes from around California, Oregon, Washington and Arizona, as well as a few foreign athletes together for a five day competition.   (Irvine, CA) - Josh Prenot represented SMSC well on Tuesday night, winning the C final in the 400 IM in 4:23.90 and making the U.S. National Youth Team in the process. Prenot was in third at the end of the backstroke leg by a body length and took control of the race with the breastroke. In the morning prelims, Prenot dropped from 4:28 to 4:25 to make the finals and breaking the SMSC team record by 3 seconds. The time may also prove to qualify for the Olympic Trials...

  (Fresno, CA) - As the Santa Maria Swim Club wraps up championship season, the club has competitive teams all over the State. The Junior Olympic Team represented SMSC well with many of the team competing at other meets. A 4th place team finish was the result of great performances by many. Nearly every member of SMSC got a finals swim, many best times and a few club records.
