SMSC Records fall at Sectionals

(Clovis, CA) - Several team records fell at the CA/NV State Senior Championships this past weekend. The meet featured 1350 swimmers from around California and Nevada.

Meghan Zimmer broke SMSC Team Records in the 100, 200 and 400 Freestyles. Zimmer took the 100 Free to 59.17, lowered her own 200 Free record to 2:04 and broke Megan Palera's 400 Freestyle record, going 4:24.09.

The Women's 400 Freestyle Relay also broke the team record, going under 4:00 for the first time, finishing in 3:58.84.

Josh Prenot lowered the 800 Free record from 8:35 to 8:28.97. He also broke a long standing 400 IM record from 1992, breaking Randy Hartley's 4:35, turning in a 4:33.24.

Prenot continues on to the USA Junior Nationals in Seattle, August 10-14, 2009.
