  (Long Beach, CA) - SMSC competed at the USA Swimming - Long Beach Grand Prix this weekend. Many meet records were set by the likes of Michael Phelps, Kaitlin Sandeno and others.   The coaching staff has selected Swimmer's of the Meet for this past weekend's PUMA Invitational. From the Presenior group, Caleb Granski represented the boys with 3 new Junior Olympic cuts and many new best times. For the girls, Jamie Sahlberg went many best times, including one event, the 500 Freestyle, with her goggles around her neck!! (Atlanta, GA) - Rachael Wahl capped off a great 2007 USA Nationals with a pair of butterfly swims at the Olympic Time Trial meet on Sunday. In the morning session, Wahl swam to a 1:02.63, narrowly missing the standard for the Olympic Trials in the 100 Butterfly. Wahl returned on Sunday evening in the 200 Butterfly, dropping from 2:16.91 to 2:15.63 to make the Olympic Trials mark by over a second. The 2008 USA Olympic Team Trials will take place in Omaha, Nebraksa June 29 through July 8, 2008.

(Atlanta, GA) - SMSC opened up some best times on the 2nd day of competition at the 2007 USA National Championships. SMSC has sent three athletes to the prestigious competition that is one of the first tune-ups on the way to the USA Olympic Team Trials in June. Rachael Wahl managed a best time in the 400 Individual Medley, turning in a 4:25 in the event and becoming the 2nd fastest performance for the event in SMSC history. She also moved up from the mid 80's ranking she entered with to mid-30's....

(Santa Maria) - Veteran SMSC athlete Rachael Wahl made an oral commitment to Oregon State University on Wednesday, November 14, 2007. The commitment includes a scholarship of at least 80% and have her swimming in the 100 & 200 Butterfly and 200 & 400 IM events for the Beavers. Wahl follows another SMSC alumni, Dena Lougee, who is a graduating Senior this year. (Santa Maria) - The 2007/8 Distance Challenge concluded Saturday morning with many new cuts acheived in the 200 - 500 - 1000 & 1650 Freestyles. New JO 500 Free times were acheived by Casey Olivera, Jazer Moreno, Alexandria Kwong and Robby Wright. Zimmer And Mikolajcik Earn GLIAC Honors Second and third Lewis swimmers to be honored this season  Nov. 5, 2007 ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - Lewis University swimmers sophomore Jared Zimmer and freshman Deirdre Mikolajcik have been named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Swimming Athletes of the Week as announced by the conference office. (Santa Maria) - The SMSC Swim-A-Thon concluded with the athlete party for all athletes that raised money on the pool deck at the Paul Nelson Aquatic Center Monday evening. It was the 2nd most successful Swim-A-Thon in club history, raising approximately $17,000! Coach Matt's GOLD group took the group title with just over $4000 and wins the pizza party at a time of their choosing. Way to go SMSC!
