Day 2 of USA Nationals underway...

(Atlanta, GA) - SMSC opened up some best times on the 2nd day of competition at the 2007 USA National Championships. SMSC has sent three athletes to the prestigious competition that is one of the first tune-ups on the way to the USA Olympic Team Trials in June.

Rachael Wahl managed a best time in the 400 Individual Medley, turning in a 4:25 in the event and becoming the 2nd fastest performance for the event in SMSC history. She also moved up from the mid 80's ranking she entered with to mid-30's.

Meghan Zimmer, swimming in the 1st heat of the 200 Freestyle, crushed her own SMSC record, finishing in 1:49.73. The swim was good for 36th place in the event and turning more than a few college coaches heads.

Wahl, Zimmer and Erica Brannon continue competing through Sunday with the 200 Back, 200 Fly and the Olympic Trials Qualifier meet on Sunday still ahead.
