(San Jose,CA) - Samantha Hazel, swimming in her first Far Western Age Group Championships, managed to drop 2 seconds in the 9-10 Girls 200 Freestyle, moving her from 27th to 14th! Far Westerns is one of the biggest age group championships in the World, often bringing in athletes and teams from around the USA, Mexico and Canada. 1600 athletes are competing this weekend. The meet continues through Sunday.

(Indianapolis,IN) - Josh Prenot re-broke his own SMSC Team Record tonight in the Men's 200 Breaststroke at the Indianapolis Grand Prix. Swimming against a field that included a former World Record holder and many ranked in the Top 20 in the World, Prenot moved from 8th to 6th with a 2:14.91. The meet continues through Saturday with only 82 days until Olympic Trials.

(Indianapolis,IN) - Two SMSC Team Records in one night and within 30 minutes of each other is a great way to start a meet. Prenot, swimming his 400 Freestyle Bonus Final just 25 minutes after his 200 Breast Final, swam to a 3:59.66, breaking his SMSC Record and finishing just .09 out of winning the heat. The meet continues through Saturday.

  (Clovis,CA) - SMSC pulled off a 5th place finish against some large teams last weekend. In team scoring, Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics won the meet with 5022pts, followed by: 2nd - Clovis (3629); 3rd - TNT (3283); 4th - Bakersfield (1006) and 5th - SMSC (761.5). Nearly 100% best times turned in by the JO team! Now our focus turns to getting more athletes qualified for the Summer Junior Olympic meet.. Congrats to all!

  (San Diego, CA) - SMSC had another banner night at the San Diego Senior Champs, climbing to 2nd place with a day to go. Highlights included 4 SMSC girls in the 400IM Final, finishing 2nd-4th-5th-8th and another boys relay record in the 400 Medley Relay. Elizabeth Pulido had a huge night with 2 relays and 2 back to back events (100 Back & 200 Free). (San Diego, CA) - A record breaking evening on Friday night at the San Diego Senior Championships. Elizabeth Pulido and Kristina Hendrick broke Megan Palera's 10 year old record in the 1000 Free, turning in a 10:13 and 10:15, respectively. Not to be outdone, Josh Prenot racing a Mexican National teamer, broke his own record and the rarely broken 9:00 mark with an 8:56. Sonny Fierro took 3rd with a 9:25. The meet continues through Monday.

 (San Diego, CA) - SMSC had a stunning night at the end of the first full night of competition at the San Diego Senior Championships. Josh Prenot broke his own team record in the 100 Breast oon his way to the title in 55.8 Prenot also won the 200 IM (1:50).   Due to all coaches and a majority of athletes being away at the San Diego Senior Classic and the CCS Junior Olympics, there will be no practice on Friday, February 17 through Monday, February 20. (Atlanta, GA) - Josh Prenot swam with the big dogs tonight. Swimming against the best 400IMers in the country, Prenot moved from 8th at the end of the backstroke to finish 3rd overall. The time was also good to crown him 18-under National Champion. Prenot also managed to beat Olmpic Silver Medalist Ryan Lochte with his 4:19.19. The meet continues through Saturday.
