  (Santa Maria, CA) - 2012 was a banner year for SMSC. A National Age Group record for Josh Prenot in the 200 Breast, along with two finals swims in the 200IM and 200 Breast at Olympic Trials. Several 18-under athletes very close to Olympic Trials cuts in SOnny Fierro and Elizabeth Pulido and a 3rd place Western Zone Team finish. (Las Vegas, NV) - Head Coach Mike Ashmore is away this week at the American Swimming Coaches Association World Clinic. The annual event is held each September, bringing together coaches from all over the World. This year's clinic features classes on marketing your swim team, Dryland training for 12-under athletes and training on the we platform that SMSC uses. The clinic continues through Sunday..

  (Santa Maria, CA) - Our newest SMSC Team Record Holder is Mason Enthoven. Enthoven became the FIRST 8-under boy to swim the 200-meter Freestyle with a 4:06! Then at our Summer Swim Festival, Mason broke both the 25 Back and 25 Fly records! The 25 Fly record was broken by 4 seconds!! Mason said he was excited to be a new SMSC Record Holder.

  (Fresno, CA) - The Santa Maria Swim Club took a solid command over 3rd place in the team standings at the end of Day 2 at the Central California Junior Olympics.  Some stellar swims turned in by all athletes. Of particular note, Samantha Hazel won the 9-10 Girl's 200 Freestyle and Jesse Booher won the 11-12 Boy's 200 Free, with James Hazel capturing 3rd. The 11-12 Boys and Girls 400 Free Relays both captured 2nd and 4th places to rack up serious points in that event. The meet continues...

(Omaha, Nebraska) - Josh Prenot finally rebounded from fighting strep throat all week in the 200 Breast this morning. Prenot turned in a 2:13.00 which broke the National Age Group Record for 17-18 Boys. Two heats later, Kevin Cordes broke the record by .3. Both will return in semi-finals tonight for a chance at Top 8 and the final on Friday night.
