SMSC Shines At Local High School League Meets

Michael Ashmore

(Arroyo Grande, CA) - Both local high school league meets took place at Arroyo Grande High School this week. SMSC had swimmers competing in both the Mountain and Ocean League Championships for their respective high schools. Not to be left out, several more SMSC athletes represented at the Channel League Championships also.

To say that SMSC athletes dominated the results at these meets is an understatement. Your children have taken an unfortunate situation and rose to the occassion anyways.

There are literally too many SMSC athletes for me to detail here and I am not clear on how many school and league records were broken - but there were quite a few. So I've listed event winners below. Errors and omissions are on me, but I've done the best I can:

200 Free Champion - Ocean League - Ryan Steed

200 Free Champion - Ocean League - Mason Enthoven. (3rd - Antonio Santos)

200 Free Champion - Mountain League - Natas Coats. (3rd - Kristian Chen)

200 Free Champion - Channel League - Max Pecile

200 IM Champion - Ocean League - Ryan Lacaste

200 IM Champion - Mountain League - Parker Reynolds

50 Free - Mountain League - Kirsten Herrmann

100 Fly Champion - Ocean League - Noemi Bravo-Guzman

100 Fly (2nd) - Mountain League - Cole Aguirre (3rd - Ryan Aguirre)

100 Free (2nd) - Mountain League - Kirsten Herrmann

100 Free Champion - Mountain League - Parker Reynolds

100 Free (2nd) - Channel League - Tabitha Pearigen

500 Free Champion - Ocean League - Ryan Steed

500 Free Champion - Ocean League - Mason Enthoven

500 Free Champion - Mountain League - Emma Marsalek (3rd - Jamielynne Lomibao)

500 Free Champion - Mountain League - Natas Coats

100 Back Champion - Ocean League - Noemi Bravo-Guzman

100 Back Champion - Ocean League - Ryan Lacaste

100 Back (2nd) - Mountain League - Ryan Aguirre

100 Back (2nd) - Channel League - Max Pecile

100 Breast Champion - Mountain League - Allie Cabiles

An outstanding job representing your high schools and SMSC. We'll be waiting to hear how many have qualified for the CIF Championships to happen next weekend.
