Great Results At Weekend Meets!

SMSC had meets in Clovis and Mission Viejo this past weekend. For many this represented the first real racing opportuntities in over a year.

At the Mission Viejo TYR Pro, SMSC was represented by Claire Tuggle and Parker Reynolds. Considering they were some of the few high school aged athletes competing at this meet - often against professionals and college athletes, the meet went fairly well. These two athletes competed more long course mileage on the weekend than they have been able to swim in training for the past 14 months.

At the Clovis Senior Meet, we got a lot of racing done over 2 1/2 days. From the coaching staff perspective, athletes who have been "relentless" in their pursuit of improvement had fantastic weekends. We have a young group of Pre-Seniors that are really shining in practice, doing more on their own and it finally showed in Clovis.

Some of our athletes are realizing that in addition to attendance, EFFORT at practice is a difference maker.

Thank you to all of the parents who got your athletes to their destination this weekend. The coaching staff continues to be thankful and impressed by our efforts over the past year. We are hoping to have another swim meet opportunity soon.
