(Omaha, NE) - The first contested event for Women t the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials was the 100 Butterfly. Rachael Wahl represented SMSC well, finishing 78th out of 130 girls for the event.

Swimming at her first Olympic Trials of her swimming career, Wahl managed to contain most of her excitement, taking the first 50 out in 28.9 and finishing in 33.0 for a 1:01.96. Wahl admitted after the race that seeing the 10,000 people in the stands might have made her a bit tense. With one swim out of the way, Wahl focuses on her specialty, the 200 Butterfly, to be held on Wednesday.
