Swimmer of the Meet - SLO Spring Splash

I was HIGHLY impressed by how well our kids did on Saturday and Sunday. Specifically what stood out was the tenacity that the Gold and Presenior kids raced with. No one ever gave up. They were always in the race to the very last meter. I even saw one Presenior decide not to breathe the last 15 meters of the 200m Freestyle to try to win the heat! Awesome!

High Performance Group - My swimmers of the meet include Rebekah Corbin. "RC" is in the middle of high school swimming at present and is still managing to fit in a few long course races for SMSC and getting closer and closer to those Junior National times! Nice job Rebekah!

Josh Prenot also had another great meet. Josh isn't swimming for a high school this year and sometimes finds himself having to do all of the training alone. He is keeping his eyes on the acheivements he wants this summer and once again, got up and took a stab and a handful of SMSC records. Nice!

Presenior:

My Swimmer of the meet were very hard to choose this time!  As a group we had over 80% best times but there were some special performances turned in.  For the ladies, Swimmer of the meet goes to Lyndsey Hiltner who not only had all best times but set a club record in the 11-12 girls 1500 Free and in here first time got a AA cut in the 200 Fly for 13-14 year olds!  As for the men kudos to the Knight boys!  Coulter also swam the 200 Fly and also got a AA cut for 13-14 year olds and his brother Travis smashed his best times in every event by huge margins.  Way to go Pre Seniors, great place to be right now!!

Gold:

Kate Slaughter has done a great job at practice and it paid off this weekend. She made great strides towards JO's and had all best times. Nice job Kate!
