Swimmer of the Meet - Stanford Grand Prix

(Palo Alto, CA) - Several athletes from the High Performance group attended the Stanford Grand Prix this past weekend, held on the Stanford University campus. Many former Olympians competed at the meet as well, including Natalie Coughlin and Klete Keller who both caame close to breaking World Records. The meet was one of the few remaining tune-ups heading into the 2008 USA Swimming Olympic Team Trials in June.

Competing for SMSC, we simply must name all in attendance as Swimmers of the Meet. All 5 athletes did a great job of 'taking care of business.' Josh Prenot broke the 13-14 SMSC Record in the 400m Freestyle and qualified for several finals. Jamie Furber went a personal best in the 400m Freestyle, also making his first Grand Prix final.

On the girl's side, Jordan Devine and Lora Lougee gain some much needed Grand Prix level experience, while Rachael Wahl finaled in the 200 Fly and 400IM with great mid-season times.

Many of these athletes will head on to the Mission Viejo Meet of Champions in 3 weeks.
