Day 2 Finals conclude in Texas...

(College Station, TX) - The Santa Maria Swim Club finished the second day of the Speedo Texas Championships tied for 6th place with Texas Gold. Trailing just behind Loveland Aquatics of Colorado and just ahead of Shrevport Swimming and La Mirada, the next two days should prove to be exciting.

In the evenings finals on Friday night, events went as follows:

In the 500 Freestyle, Jason Dupere finsihed 13th (4:38.2) with Jamie Furber in 16th (4:46.00)

In the 200 Backstroke, Erica Brannon finsihed 15th in 2:04.61, while Meghan Zimmer took the 8th place medal in 2:04.65. Zimmer then swam the 100 Freestyle 10 minutes later and managed 8th again with a 52.87.

Rachael Wahl finished 5th in the 200 Butterfly with an SMSC Team Record and New York qualifying time of 2:01.82. James Motley finished 16th for the men in 1:57.01.

The meet continues through Sunday evening.
